60 years ago today Cherilyn Sarkisian, known worldwide simply as Cher, was born. She has been an entertainment icon for over 40 years. Cher was only 19 in 1965 when she hit #1 on the pop singles chart with "I Got You Babe" as half of Sonny and Cher. Since then she has been part of 19 more chart singles with Sonny and 35 as a solo artist. Last year she completed one of the most phenomenally successful farewell tours in the history of pop music.
